Founded by Benjamin Grosvenor, Hyeyoon Park and Raja Halder with the aim of creating a unique and vibrant event for the local community, the first annual Bromley & Beckenham International Music Festival took place with four socially-distanced chamber music concerts in September 2020 at Bromley Parish Church. The festival dates for 2021 will be 16th-19th September, with more details soon.

The Covid-19 crisis has been and continues to be a daunting time for everyone. Those who work in the performing arts have been hit by concert cancellations at home and abroad. As the summer of 2020 approached, coming after months of seclusion and uncertainty, we saw a heartening opportunity to connect and work together with our community. As musicians living in Bromley, we felt united in our desire to create something out of this experience that was positive and long-lasting for our local area. Through this the festival was born. We hope that this will become an annual event that will bring world-class music to Bromley and Beckenham, which are vibrant centres and not merely off-shoots from a larger city. We hope that you will join this journey with us.
